Nas Applauds Rappers For Shining Light On Inner City Problems In ‘Chicago Love’ Documentary

News cycles change faster than you can blink these days, but changing headlines doesn’t mean that problems are actually getting fixed. A new Revolt TV documentary called “Chicago Love” zeroes in on the struggling Chicago inner cities, with some help from musicians like Nas.

“Chicago is speaking where other people ain’t talking [and] they’re talking for themselves, giving us what’s going on,” Nas told Revolt, of the rap music coming from the Windy City.

“If it wasn’t for the rap artists, the whole country would not know the state of emergency that’s going on in the hood out here. So thank god we’ve got rappers from Chicago enlightening the whole world about what’s happening, because nobody else wants to talk about it,” he added.

The documentary, produced by Rahman Dukes and Keith Clinkscales, was filmed over Lollapalooza weekend in Chicago and addresses the city’s gun violence epidemic and ties to rap music.
